What mattress is better than Saatva?
Established in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer luxury bed mattress under three brand name names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils provide the Saatva Classic an excellent amount of bounce near the top, and a plush top adds softness. As with all of the Saatva Company’s bed mattress, the Saatva Classic is provided by movers, rather than in a box.

Note: Saatva recently updated the Zenhaven, changing the type of latex utilized in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now features Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; learn more about the distinctions listed below. We plan to check the brand-new variation quickly and will update this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists mainly of latex, which is inherently resilient. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Firm side feels a bit firmer), which may show valuable if you’re not exactly sure what you prefer or if your requirements change gradually. This is not a conventionally cushy bed mattress, but it offers a flexible cushion, great edge support, and a subtle springiness. Provided its innate durability, the Zenhaven must work well for people who weigh more than 200 pounds.
For this review, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven bed mattress for numerous weeks in my own house. These mattresses were also assessed in our group tests carried out for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam bed mattress and the finest innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel writer for sleep, I’ve talked to scores of specialists in the mattress industry and in materials science; checked out lots of bed mattress showrooms, shops, and factories; and pored over the fine print on requirements, guarantees, and return policies. Most just recently, supervising editor Courtney Schley examined the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her house for a number of weeks.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “eco-friendly” brands. We do know that the company utilizes thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to fiberglass or chemicals) and just organic cotton (rather of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress business, Saatva touts such bonus as zoned layers for “optimal spinal column support”; we’re less impressed with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive client service and durable foams and coils.
