What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer luxury bed mattress under 3 brand names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils give the Saatva Classic a great amount of bounce near the top, and a luxurious top adds softness. As with all of the Saatva Company’s mattresses, the Saatva Classic is provided by movers, rather than in a box.

People who are quickly woken up when their partner stirs might find the Saatva transfers more movement than perfect Individuals who like the hug of memory foam might not feel the Saatva conforms carefully sufficient The Saatva’s comfort system utilizes thinner layers of foam than numerous hybrid designs. Note: Saatva just recently updated the Zenhaven, altering the kind of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; find out more about the distinctions below. We prepare to check the new version quickly and will upgrade this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists mostly of latex, which is inherently durable. The Zenhaven is likewise flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Firm side feels a bit firmer), which may show handy if you’re not sure what you prefer or if your needs change over time. This is not a traditionally cushy bed mattress, but it offers a flexible cushion, excellent edge support, and a subtle springiness. Offered its innate resilience, the Zenhaven needs to work well for people who weigh more than 200 pounds.
For this review, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for numerous weeks in my own house. These mattresses were likewise assessed in our group tests carried out for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam bed mattress and the best innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel author for sleep, I’ve spoken with ratings of professionals in the bed mattress industry and in materials science; gone to lots of bed mattress shops, factories, and showrooms; and read the small print on requirements, warranties, and return policies. Most recently, monitoring editor Courtney Schley evaluated the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her house for several weeks.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “eco-friendly” brands. We do know that the business utilizes thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to chemicals or fiberglass) and only natural cotton (instead of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress companies, Saatva promotes such extras as zoned layers for “ideal spine support”; we’re less satisfied with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer service and resilient foams and coils.
