What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer luxury mattresses under three brand name names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils provide the Saatva Classic an excellent quantity of bounce near the top, and a plush top adds softness. As with all of the Saatva Business’s mattresses, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, rather than in a box.

Note: Saatva recently updated the Zenhaven, altering the kind of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now features Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; learn more about the distinctions listed below. We prepare to check the new variation soon and will update this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists mostly of latex, which is inherently resilient. The Zenhaven is likewise flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Firm side feels a bit firmer), which might prove handy if you’re not sure what you prefer or if your requirements alter gradually. This is not a traditionally soft mattress, however it provides a supple cushion, excellent edge assistance, and a subtle springiness. Offered its natural sturdiness, the Zenhaven must work well for people who weigh more than 200 pounds.
For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for several weeks in my own home. These mattresses were likewise examined in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the finest foam bed mattress and the best innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel author for sleep, I’ve talked to ratings of experts in the bed mattress market and in materials science; gone to dozens of bed mattress factories, shops, and showrooms; and read the fine print on specs, guarantees, and return policies. Most recently, monitoring editor Courtney Schley evaluated the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her home for numerous weeks.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environment-friendly” brands. But we do know that the company uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (rather than fiberglass or chemicals) and just natural cotton (instead of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress business, Saatva promotes such extras as zoned layers for “ideal spinal column assistance”; we’re less pleased with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer care and long lasting foams and coils.
