What mattress is better than Saatva?
Established in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer luxury bed mattress under 3 brand names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils offer the Saatva Classic an excellent amount of bounce near the top, and a plush top adds softness. As with all of the Saatva Business’s bed mattress, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, rather than in a box.
Considerations: Sealy Artesia Hd Mattress
The Saatva’s convenience system uses thinner layers of foam than many hybrid designs. These thinner layers of foam integrated with the Euro-top’s fiber fill take in some movement, reducing how much movement is felt across the surface of the bed. Sleepers might still experience some movement transfer when their partner modifications position or gets up throughout the night due to the bed mattress’s 2 layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft variation of the Saatva soaks up a little more movement than the Luxury Company and Company options.
While all of the Saatva firmness alternatives have pressure-relieving capacity, the quantity of pressure relief that an individual experiences on the bed mattress will differ based partly on their weight and sleep position. Individuals who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most push relief on the Plush Soft version of the mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the very best balance of contouring and assistance from the Firm version.
Note: Saatva recently updated the Zenhaven, altering the type of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; learn more about the distinctions listed below. We plan to test the new variation soon and will update this guide with our impressions.
The Zenhaven is likewise flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Company side feels a bit firmer), which may prove valuable if you’re not sure what you prefer or if your requirements alter over time. This is not a conventionally cushy bed mattress, but it offers a flexible cushion, excellent edge support, and a subtle springiness.
For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for a number of weeks in my own home. These bed mattress were also evaluated in our group tests carried out for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam mattresses and the finest innerspring mattresses. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel author for sleep, I have actually talked to ratings of professionals in the bed mattress industry and in materials science; visited dozens of mattress factories, display rooms, and stores; and read the fine print on specs, guarantees, and return policies. Most recently, supervising editor Courtney Schley evaluated the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her home for numerous weeks.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environmentally friendly” brand names. We do know that the business uses thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to chemicals or fiberglass) and just natural cotton (rather of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress business, Saatva touts such extras as zoned layers for “optimal spine assistance”; we’re less satisfied with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer care and long lasting foams and coils.
