What mattress is better than Saatva?
Established in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer luxury mattresses under three brand name names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils offer the Saatva Classic a great amount of bounce near the top, and a plush top includes softness. As with all of the Saatva Business’s bed mattress, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, rather than in a box.
Considerations: Saatva Vs Bed
Individuals who are easily woken up when their partner stirs may discover the Saatva transfers more movement than suitable Individuals who like the hug of memory foam might not feel the Saatva adheres carefully enough The Saatva’s convenience system utilizes thinner layers of foam than many hybrid designs. Rather, it utilizes an additional layer of springs within the
Note: Saatva recently upgraded the Zenhaven, altering the kind of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now features Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; find out more about the differences below. We prepare to evaluate the new variation quickly and will upgrade this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists mostly of latex, which is inherently durable. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the Luxury Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Firm side feels a bit firmer), which might prove useful if you’re uncertain what you prefer or if your requirements alter gradually. This is not a traditionally cushy bed mattress, however it offers a flexible cushion, good edge support, and a subtle springiness. Given its natural sturdiness, the Zenhaven must work well for people who weigh more than 200 pounds.
For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven bed mattress for several weeks in my own home. These bed mattress were also assessed in our group tests performed for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam bed mattress and the best innerspring mattresses. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel author for sleep, I’ve talked to scores of experts in the mattress market and in products science; visited dozens of bed mattress showrooms, factories, and shops; and read the fine print on requirements, warranties, and return policies. Most recently, monitoring editor Courtney Schley examined the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her house for a number of weeks.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environmentally friendly” brands. However we do understand that the company uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to chemicals or fiberglass) and only organic cotton (instead of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress companies, Saatva touts such additionals as zoned layers for “optimum spinal column assistance”; we’re less satisfied with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer care and resilient foams and coils.
