Considerations: Saatva Mattress Sheffield
The Saatva’s comfort system uses thinner layers of foam than many hybrid models. These thinner layers of foam integrated with the Euro-top’s fiber fill take in some movement, decreasing how much movement is felt across the surface of the bed. Sleepers may still experience some motion transfer when their partner modifications position or gets up throughout the night due to the bed mattress’s two layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft version of the Saatva soaks up somewhat more motion than the High-end Firm and Firm choices. While all of the Saatva firmness alternatives have pressure-relieving potential, the amount of pressure relief that a private experiences on the bed mattress will vary based partially on their weight and sleep position. Individuals who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most pressure relief on the Plush Soft version of the mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the best balance of contouring and support from the Firm variation.
Note: Saatva just recently upgraded the Zenhaven, altering the type of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now features Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; read more about the distinctions below. We plan to test the new version soon and will upgrade this guide with our impressions.
The Zenhaven is likewise flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Company side feels a bit firmer), which might prove helpful if you’re not sure what you choose or if your needs change over time. This is not a conventionally soft bed mattress, but it offers a flexible cushion, great edge support, and a subtle springiness.
For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven bed mattress for numerous weeks in my own house. These bed mattress were likewise assessed in our group tests performed for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam bed mattress and the best innerspring bed mattress. Most just recently, supervising editor Courtney Schley assessed the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her home for several weeks.

Loom & Leaf ( all foam).

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “eco-friendly” brand names. We do understand that the company uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to fiberglass or chemicals) and only organic cotton (instead of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress business, Saatva touts such bonus as zoned layers for “optimal spine support”; we’re less pleased with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer service and durable foams and coils.
