The Saatva’s convenience system uses thinner layers of foam than numerous hybrid designs. These thinner layers of foam integrated with the Euro-top’s fiber fill take in some movement, lowering how much movement is felt across the surface area of the bed. Sleepers may still experience some movement transfer when their partner changes position or gets up during the night due to the bed mattress’s 2 layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft variation of the Saatva takes in a little more movement than the High-end Firm and Firm alternatives. While all of the Saatva firmness choices have pressure-relieving potential, the quantity of pressure relief that a private experiences on the mattress will differ based partly on their weight and sleep position. Individuals who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most pressure relief on the Luxurious Soft variation of the bed mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the best balance of contouring and support from the Firm version.
Keep in mind: Saatva just recently upgraded the Zenhaven, altering the kind of latex utilized in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; learn more about the distinctions below. We plan to evaluate the new variation soon and will upgrade this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists primarily of latex, which is intrinsically resilient. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Firm side feels a bit firmer), which might prove practical if you’re unsure what you choose or if your needs alter with time. This is not a conventionally cushy mattress, however it offers a flexible cushion, great edge assistance, and a subtle springiness. Offered its natural resilience, the Zenhaven must work well for people who weigh more than 200 pounds.
For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for a number of weeks in my own house. These bed mattress were also evaluated in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam bed mattress and the finest innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior staff author for sleep, I’ve talked to ratings of experts in the mattress industry and in products science; visited dozens of mattress display rooms, shops, and factories; and pored over the fine print on specs, warranties, and return policies. Most recently, monitoring editor Courtney Schley evaluated the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her home for a number of weeks.

We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environment-friendly” brand names. We do understand that the company uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to chemicals or fiberglass) and only natural cotton (instead of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress companies, Saatva promotes such additionals as zoned layers for “optimum spinal column assistance”; we’re less pleased with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer support and durable foams and coils.
