What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer luxury bed mattress under three brand names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Between these three brands, the business offers several mattress designs, including the all-foam Loom & Leaf;& Leaf; the latex Zenhaven; the airbed, Solaire; and the hybrid Saatva. Ideal for: People with more specific firmness choices Sleepers of any size and sleep position Those who tend to sleep hot Couples searching for a combination of pressure relief and bounce A lot of online bed mattress are foams or hybrids, so the Saatva Classic stands apart. It’s one of the few innerspring bed mattress you can easily buy online. Pocketed coils offer the Saatva Classic a good amount of bounce near the top, and a luxurious top adds softness. Likewise, similar to all of the Saatva Business’s mattresses, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, instead of in a box. Saatva also uses a generous 180-day trial period and simple returns.
Considerations: Saatva Luxury Firm Vs Dreamcloud
The Saatva’s convenience system uses thinner layers of foam than lots of hybrid designs. These thinner layers of foam integrated with the Euro-top’s fiber fill soak up some motion, minimizing how much movement is felt throughout the surface of the bed. Sleepers might still experience some motion transfer when their partner changes position or gets up during the night due to the mattress’s 2 layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft version of the Saatva soaks up a little more motion than the Luxury Firm and Firm alternatives. While all of the Saatva firmness options have pressure-relieving capacity, the quantity of pressure relief that a private experiences on the bed mattress will differ based partially on their weight and sleep position. Individuals who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most press relief on the Plush Soft variation of the bed mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the best balance of contouring and support from the Firm variation.
Note: Saatva just recently upgraded the Zenhaven, changing the type of latex utilized in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; read more about the differences below. We prepare to test the new version quickly and will upgrade this guide with our impressions.
The Zenhaven is also flippable (the Luxury Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Company side feels a bit firmer), which might show useful if you’re not sure what you prefer or if your requirements alter over time. This is not a traditionally cushy mattress, but it provides a flexible cushion, great edge assistance, and a subtle springiness.
For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven bed mattress for a number of weeks in my own house. These bed mattress were likewise assessed in our group tests performed for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam bed mattress and the best innerspring bed mattress. Most recently, supervising editor Courtney Schley assessed the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her house for numerous weeks.

We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environment-friendly” brands. But we do know that the business utilizes thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (instead of chemicals or fiberglass) and only natural cotton (instead of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress business, Saatva touts such additionals as zoned layers for “optimal spinal column support”; we’re less amazed with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive client service and durable foams and coils.
