What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer high-end bed mattress under 3 brand names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils provide the Saatva Classic a good amount of bounce near the top, and a plush top includes softness. As with all of the Saatva Business’s mattresses, the Saatva Classic is provided by movers, rather than in a box.

Note: Saatva recently upgraded the Zenhaven, altering the type of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; find out more about the differences listed below. We plan to test the brand-new version soon and will update this guide with our impressions.
The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Firm side feels a bit firmer), which might show helpful if you’re not sure what you choose or if your needs change over time. This is not a traditionally cushy mattress, but it offers a supple cushion, good edge assistance, and a subtle springiness.
For this review, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for numerous weeks in my own home. These mattresses were also evaluated in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the finest foam mattresses and the finest innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior staff writer for sleep, I’ve spoken with scores of professionals in the bed mattress market and in materials science; visited dozens of mattress display rooms, stores, and factories; and read the small print on requirements, guarantees, and return policies. Most just recently, monitoring editor Courtney Schley examined the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her house for a number of weeks.
Understanding Saatva Saatva’s portfolio of beds– many with a choice of firmness levels and dealing with nearly every comfort choice– consists of: Saatva Classic ( innerspring).
Loom & Leaf ( all foam).
Zenhaven ( all latex).
Saatva Latex Hybrid ( latex with coils).
Solaire ( a bed with adjustable air chambers). Saatva Delivery Arizona
Saatva HD ( a latex-coil hybrid developed for sleepers who weigh 300 to 500 pounds).
Saatva Youth ( a foam-coil hybrid for kids ages 3 through 12).
We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “eco-friendly” brand names. But we do understand that the company utilizes thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (instead of chemicals or fiberglass) and only organic cotton (instead of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress business, Saatva touts such additionals as zoned layers for “ideal spine assistance”; we’re less impressed with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer care and durable foams and coils.
