What mattress is better than Saatva?
Established in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer high-end mattresses under three brand names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils give the Saatva Classic an excellent amount of bounce near the top, and a plush top includes softness. As with all of the Saatva Company’s mattresses, the Saatva Classic is provided by movers, rather than in a box.

Keep in mind: Saatva just recently updated the Zenhaven, changing the type of latex utilized in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; read more about the differences listed below. We prepare to check the brand-new variation soon and will update this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists mostly of latex, which is fundamentally durable. The Zenhaven is likewise flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Firm side feels a bit firmer), which may prove helpful if you’re not sure what you prefer or if your requirements alter with time. This is not a conventionally soft bed mattress, but it uses a flexible cushion, excellent edge assistance, and a subtle springiness. Given its innate resilience, the Zenhaven should work well for individuals who weigh more than 200 pounds.
For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for several weeks in my own house. These mattresses were also examined in our group tests carried out for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam bed mattress and the finest innerspring mattresses. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel author for sleep, I’ve interviewed scores of specialists in the bed mattress market and in products science; gone to lots of mattress display rooms, factories, and shops; and pored over the small print on requirements, warranties, and return policies. Most recently, supervising editor Courtney Schley examined the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her home for several weeks.

We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environmentally friendly” brands. We do know that the company uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to chemicals or fiberglass) and just natural cotton (rather of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress business, Saatva touts such additionals as zoned layers for “ideal spinal column assistance”; we’re less pleased with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer service and long lasting foams and coils.
