It is among the few innerspring bed mattress you can conveniently purchase online. Pocketed coils give the Saatva Classic an excellent quantity of bounce near the top, and a plush top includes softness. Likewise, as with all of the Saatva Company’s bed mattress, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, instead of in a box. Saatva also provides a generous 180-day trial period and simple returns.

Note: Saatva just recently updated the Zenhaven, changing the kind of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now features Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; find out more about the distinctions below. We plan to test the brand-new variation soon and will update this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists mainly of latex, which is inherently resilient. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the Luxury Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Firm side feels a bit firmer), which may show helpful if you’re not exactly sure what you choose or if your needs change with time. This is not a conventionally soft bed mattress, however it uses a flexible cushion, great edge support, and a subtle springiness. Given its innate sturdiness, the Zenhaven ought to work well for people who weigh more than 200 pounds.
For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for several weeks in my own house. These mattresses were also assessed in our group tests carried out for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam bed mattress and the finest innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel author for sleep, I’ve interviewed scores of professionals in the mattress industry and in products science; visited dozens of mattress shops, factories, and showrooms; and pored over the fine print on specs, guarantees, and return policies. Most recently, supervising editor Courtney Schley examined the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her house for several weeks.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environmentally friendly” brand names. We do understand that the business utilizes thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to fiberglass or chemicals) and only natural cotton (instead of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress business, Saatva touts such additionals as zoned layers for “ideal spinal column support”; we’re less satisfied with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer support and durable foams and coils.
