What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva focuses on direct-to-consumer high-end bed mattress under 3 brand: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Between these 3 brand names, the business offers numerous bed mattress models, consisting of the all-foam Loom & Leaf;& Leaf; the latex Zenhaven; the airbed, Solaire; and the hybrid Saatva. Perfect for: Individuals with more particular firmness preferences Sleepers of any size and sleep position Those who tend to sleep hot Couples trying to find a combination of pressure relief and bounce A lot of online mattresses are hybrids or foams, so the Saatva Classic stands out. It’s one of the few innerspring bed mattress you can easily purchase online. Pocketed coils provide the Saatva Classic a great amount of bounce near the top, and a plush top includes softness. As with all of the Saatva Business’s mattresses, the Saatva Classic is provided by movers, rather than in a box. Saatva also uses a generous 180-day trial duration and simple returns.

Note: Saatva recently updated the Zenhaven, changing the type of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now features Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; find out more about the differences below. We plan to test the new version soon and will update this guide with our impressions.
The Zenhaven is likewise flippable (the Luxury Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Company side feels a bit firmer), which may prove useful if you’re not sure what you prefer or if your requirements alter over time. This is not a traditionally cushy mattress, but it uses a flexible cushion, good edge support, and a subtle springiness.
For this review, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven bed mattress for numerous weeks in my own home. These mattresses were also assessed in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the finest foam bed mattress and the best innerspring mattresses. As Wirecutter’s senior staff author for sleep, I’ve interviewed ratings of specialists in the bed mattress market and in products science; checked out dozens of mattress showrooms, stores, and factories; and read the small print on specs, service warranties, and return policies. Most recently, supervising editor Courtney Schley evaluated the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her house for a number of weeks.

We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environment-friendly” brand names. But we do understand that the company uses thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to fiberglass or chemicals) and just organic cotton (instead of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress business, Saatva touts such bonus as zoned layers for “optimum spinal column support”; we’re less pleased with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer service and resilient foams and coils.
