2016 - 2017 Information:
Come on a Wednesday to the registration table. It begins at 6:25.
Welcome to Awana Clubs!
Awana (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed) motivates children to learn God's Word by offering kid-sized fun-- games, prizes, awards, theme nights, and more and providing encouraging relationships with caring, qualified leaders.
Boys and girls love the excitement and appeal of our weekly meetings. While they're having a blast, they discover powerful truths from the Bible that will benefit them long into adulthood! Jesus loves every child everywhere-- and we do too!
Cubbies is the two-year preschool program for ages 2 years prior to kindergarten.
It is our desire to share and show God's love with each child through Bible stories, fun activities, and Bible verses! Preschoolers have a fun, friendly place to hear about the greatness of God, His Word, and HIs love. They learn the gospel through exciting games, scripture memory, and understandable curriculum created to help you raise kids who respect God and His sovereignty. The colorful, engaging handbooks will capture preschooler's attention. Weekly "Bear Hugs" include memory verses and activities that teach basic truths about God, Jesus, sin, and salvation.
Sparks is the Kindergarten through 2nd Grade program.
The flight-themed handbooks take children on a chronological adventure through the Bible with exciting biographies. Handbooks come with a CD featuring dramatic readings of each biography, books of the Bible, and memory verses. In Sparks, your child will make significant steps toward becoming a life-long Christ follower. As you and your child work through their handbook, the overall goal is not to earn awards, although awards motivate and add to the fun! The goal is for your child (and you too!) to KNOW, LOVE, and SERVE Christ.
Truth & Training
Truth and Training is for grades 3-5.
In T&T, boys and girls learn about God and how to live their lives courageously for Him. They learn to practice grace and mercy in social interactions and boldly share their faith. Club will challenge, empower, and give them a solid foundation for the future. Each week there is a fun theme night. T&T is a great way for kids to enjoy being with their friends and making new ones. We also raise money every year for an Adopt-a-Club in Haiti. If your child sends in $5.00 in the club year, they will receive a special Adopt-a-Club patch.
What can you do to help your kids in Awana?
Make sure they come on time, bring their handbook, wear their uniform, and wear tennis shoes (for games). Help them during the week with memorizing their verses. A brief 5-10 minute session each morning or evening works very well.
Register any Wednesday evening at JEFC, September - April, at the "New Clubber" table. There are fees for the uniform, handbook and dues.
Club will be cancelled for severe weather anytime the Johnston Public Schools are cancelled. Cancellations will be announced over WHO TV, KCCI TV, and the JEFC.org website.
