Kid’s Ministry Roles

Class Leader - lead discussion and activities provided in the curriculum to reinforce Large Group session. Supplies provided with activity props or craft materials. Associate or Youth Helper assistants provided in each class.  Age: minimum 10th grade. Time frame: first or second service.

Associate Leader – assist the Class Leader with activities. When needed, lead activity of a smaller group. Age: minimum 9th grade. Time frame: first or second service.

Youth Helper – assist Class Leader during small group time, oversee child during “Welcome/Choices” time and sit with them during Large Group session. Escort them to the restroom. Age: minimum 5th grade. Time frames: first or second service.

Large Group Emcee – Emcee aspects of Large Group session including lesson from video or Story Teller, Music Leader, discussion and prayer. Age: minimum 10th grade. Time frames: portions of first or second service.

Story Teller – present Bible instruction in a creative and interactive method that captures the attention of the children. Materials provided. Age: minimum 10th grade. Time frames: portions of first or second service.

Music Leader/Helper – assist in leading songs and actions to children in Large Group session. Age requirement: minimum 7th grade. Time frame: portions of first or second service.

Kid Central Host – assist in check in time by helping new families and visitors fill out registration and nametags. Age requirement: minimum 18. Time frame: portions of first or second service.

Child Care Provider – oversee the care of children ages 0-2 in the Nursery. Time frames: first or second service. Age: minimum 18. Rotation is once either monthly or every other month.  

Child Care Helper – assist in overseeing the care of children ages 0-2. Age: minimum 7th grade. Time frames: first or second service. Rotation is once either monthly or every other month.  

Team Leader – oversee the administrative aspects of a department in partnership with other leaders. Minimum 3 team meetings per year. Oversee ministry one Sunday per month. Individual role responsibilities as needed.

Functionality Roles – all ministries have behind the scenes components that support the functionality of the program. These roles are perfect for people with organizational, communication or computer skills.
